The recipe: Molasses spice spritz

Once you've mastered plain spritz, spice it up with this spritz variation. They are crispy right out of the oven, but will soften if not eaten that day. Great in the Fall too!

The surprise: Skinning Firefox

We holiday-obsessed geeks get unnaturally excited when we can decorate our electronics. In addition to the backgrounds, screen savers and desktop widgets, Firefox can be decorated for the holidays. Be in the Christmas spirit even while browsing www.ScroogeAndMarley.com!

Bottles for Santa's reindeer

By the time I was three, my mother was convinced she'd have the only kindergartner dragging a bottle to school.

Mom's pretty creative, and suggested that Santa's reindeer could use the bottles. I happily agreed. Mom packed the bottles into a box, and wrote a letter at our kitchen table explaining the donation. She kept a bottle just in case, but I apparently made it through the first night just fine, still too excited by the thought of donating to Santa. I asked the second night, but mom was committed.

Problem solved until we saw Santa at the mall that Christmas.

I told him what I wanted, then happily asked how the reindeer liked the my bottles.

Either my mother was signaling frantically from the sidelines, or he'd been very well trained, because the pause was nearly imperceptible before he said they'd liked them just fine, and thank you very much.
